Kerry Hubbard, 46, was hit by a car while riding his bike around 9:50pm last Sunday. He was riding on the shoulder against traffic on U.S. 46.  The driver drifted onto the shoulder of the road, striking Hubbard.  Hubbard was airlifted to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.  He remains in serious condition.

The driver drove off before police arrived and is believed to be driving a gray Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Hubbard was wearing light clothing, his bike had reflectors, and he had a light on the basket of the bike.  All though he was riding on the wrong side of the road, the driver should have been alert and seen Hubbard.

Cycling groups are outraged because this is the fourth accident this year on U.S. 46 involving bicycles and cars.
